Musicianist

In a day far from now, yes it does quite worry some, there will be a time where music is unheard. For there is an evolutionary trend in humans that our ears are getting smaller. It is to be believed that eventually we shall not have ears to hear of and all communication will be visual; whether through writing or gestures. However, there is a day such as today that music has already begun to fade, even to the contrary that we still have the audio ability, it has been a devious thing that most music should fade due to the commercialization of such a product. Commercializing music often leads to unpure and uncompleted works. These features are merely published for money and not quality. On such a note it has been to brought to the public dismay that two radio stations in chigaco have closed there doors due to this commercialization of popular music. These stations were both classical stations and could not keep up with the times. Like wise, the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, along with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra are in grave danger of also disbanning. The day is upon us that such noble organizations are resorting to non-noble means to make money; such as playing less intricate peices, or even popular peices that have no meaning. It is believed that the only orchestra to be left in the world after all is said and done is the symphonies of the movies, those who record movie soundtracks. That is if orchestras are still used and not synthesized. However I am not here to demoralize popular music. For there are some songs and bands that have music majors, or backgrounds in classical music. This becomes evident in the structure of their songs and makes for some good music. I have recently heard of the band Muse. Which, one occasion, will use a live orchestra as a main center peice. Yet to further the amazement of this I found out that every bit of every song Muse writes, is hand written by memebers of the band and not by anyone else. This is also a trait that is seen in popular music- the unoriginality of the band, they either cover a song or have a composer write it for them. I, being one who majors in music composition, have been in such a situation where bands from around my town will come and ask me to write them a song. The sad part about this is they come to a classical composer to write a popular song. But like I said I’m not here to disban the popular culture. I like everyone else do like most of the songs, I just feel they could be more complex on a musicality level.
